Where we work
Island Craft Co. is based on Hainan Island, off the southern coast of China. We work directly with weaving families who have kept the li brocade tradition alive for generations — a hand-weaving craft native to this island.
How we make
Everything is woven or assembled by hand, in small batches. We source rattan, palm leaf, cotton and linen locally, and colour with plant pigments wherever we can. No synthetic fibres, no plastic in the packaging.
What we believe
A home object should be made slowly, used for years, and repaired rather than replaced. That is the whole of our design brief.
